Weekly Wrap Up March 29 – I Blame Animal Crossing

Weekly Wrap Up

You would think that, with all the extra time I’ve had, I’ve been reading a ton. But I’ve basically just been playing animal crossing all week because my brain cannot concentrate on anything. I’m not even really sure what day it is anymore. But I still finished two books this week, so lets’ talk about them!

The first book I finished was The Last Human by Zack Jordan. You can check out my review if you want to read more about it, but the short version is: I liked it. I’ve read a decent amount of sci-fi, but this one was pretty unique. My only issue was that it felt a little too long, but that’s not a deal-breaker.

And, this week, I finally finished/read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I listened to the audiobook (thanks to everyone who recommended it!), and really enjoyed it. Henrietta’s story is definitely an important one, and I appreciated learning more about it. Would definitely recommend, especially if you’re looking for nonfiction that is more engaging (because we all know it can be pretty dry).

As for what I’m currently reading, I’m working on You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle, which is a romantic comedy about an engaged couple who don’t want to get married. The catch: they’re each trying to get the other one to break if off so they won’t have to pay for the wedding. I will probably be binge-reading this today, so expect a review tomorrow.

I hope you’re all having a great weekend, and that you’re staying safe and healthy!

What are you reading this week?

    1. I have two books (one ARC, one not) that I want to finish before OWLs. Because I haven’t read twelve books in a month at all this year, so that might be a disaster even without me having to add on to it. But I’m excited, too! Good luck with your ARCs!

  1. I’ve been wanting to read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks but haven’t quite gotten there yet. I think I’ll take the tip and download it as my next audiobook. Thanks! 🙂
