Weekly Wrap Up – January 26

Weekly Wrap Up

It’s been a very long week. Which you might have guessed from my lack of posts (or if you follow me on Twitter). Everything has been kind of crazy, which means I’ve had almost no time – or energy – for reading. But I did finish one book this week and started a few others.

The book I finished reading this week was Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow. This is about his investigation of the sexual abuse and assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein. And it was so good. Definitely heartbreaking to hear the stories of all the women who were ignored or suppressed for so long. But I’m so glad the stories came out. And I loved this book.

This week I started The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo and I am really enjoying it so far. She’s such a great writer (I loved The Night Tiger). My expectations for this book were pretty high, but I think it’s meeting them. I meant to read it before the series debuted on Netflix on the 24th, which obviously didn’t happen, but I am looking forward to watching it after I finish the book.

I’m also reading The Illness Lesson by Clare Beams. Which I’m not very far into, despite the fact that I planned to have a review up tomorrow. Which could still happen! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Finally, I needed a new audiobook for the week and picked up Kindred. AND WHY HAS NO ONE MADE ME READ OCTAVIA BUTLER SOONER??? Seriously, I am kind of obsessed with this book. It’s amazing and brilliant and all the good things. Go read it if you haven’t already.

That’s it for this week! I hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Let me know in the comments: what audiobook should I pick up when I finish Kindred? I’ll probably need a new one in a day or two.
