Before I get into my end of the year favorite posts, I need to talk about my seasonal (or quarterly or whatever you want to call them) favorites. I read a ton of great books this fall, so it was hard to narrow down this list. But I managed to pick out five books that stood out. Keep reading for my fall favorites.
Click the links below to see my monthly wrap up for each of the months included in this favorites post. Any reviews I’ve done for these books are also linked.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I was honestly not expecting to like this book. But I ended up loving it! This book is fantastic. I have a soft spot for character-driven books, especially ones that deal with art. This book fit the bill. I absolutely loved it!
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. I picked this one up on a whim, and I’m glad I did. It’s such a great historical fiction novel. I was definitely missing out.
Wilder Girls by Rory Power. This is one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read, and I loved it! This is like a YA version of Annihilation, and, honestly, it was SO MUCH BETTER.
The Bone People by Keri Hulme. I don’t think I can even describe this one, but it was amazing. Another very strange book, but one that is going to stay with me for a long time.
The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah. This has been on my TBR for ages, and I finally read it. I loved it so much. It was one of my five-star predictions which obviously turned out to be correct (make sure to check out my five-star predictions wrap up if you missed it).
That’s it for my fall favorites this year! I’m curious to see if any of the books I’m planning on fitting into the last few weeks of the year end up being favorites.
