December Reading List – Starting 2020 ARCs and a Christmas Read

It’s the last reading list of the year. And the decade. And what is happening? Ok, it’s fine. I’m fine. I’m definitely not freaking out all the things I have to do before the year ends. And all the things I have to do in 2020. But for now, we get to talk about all the books I have to read before the end of the year! No surprise that I’m already trying to get ahead on ARCs for January. Because I have three that are coming out on January 7th (oops), and I need to read them like now so I don’t panic. It’s fine.

These are the books I’m planing on reading this month:

The God Game by Danny Tobey. I need some new sci-fi in my life, and this one sounds really great. It’s about a group of friends who join a video game run by a group of hackers and an AI who believes it’s God. So that sounds fun. (If you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because this book made me terrified of my computer.)

Dear Edward by Ann Napolitono. This is one of those literary fiction books I’ve been hearing a lot about, and I’m kind of excited to read it. It’s about a twelve-year-old boy who is the sole survivor of a plane crash. He has to learn to navigate the world without his family (who died in the crash), feeling as if a part of him was left on the plane.

Hill Women by Cassie Chambers. When I got an email about this book, my response was yes please. It’s a memoir that has been compared to Tara Westover’s Educated, which I loved. I’m excited.

The Nightshift Before Christmas by Adam Kay. I obviously needed a little bit of Christmas reading, and was so excited to see this one! I loved This is Going to Hurt (which is finally coming out in the US this week!) and have high hopes for this one. I’m expecting it to maybe put me in the holiday mood, but probably also gross me out.

Keep your fingers crossed that I can meet all of my reading goals for this year. Because there are still so many books to read! I will be posting every day this month, so be sure to check back in for some fun new posts throughout December.

What books are you planning to read this month?

    1. Great books! I really enjoyed both Normal People and The Hate U Give (I haven’t read the other two yet). Looks like a fantastic reading list. Happy reading!
