Weekly Wrap Up – June 9

Weekly Reading Wrap Up

Happy weekend everyone! I hope you’re all having a great weekend. It’s been a busy week for me. But I ended it with something really amazing! If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know what it is. But I’m going to talk about the books I’ve read this week first, so keep reading!

The first book I finished this week is The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien. Yes, I finally started reading The Lord of the Rings. I can’t believe it took me so long to read it, but I loved it. I can see why this is a classic, and how it influenced pretty much all other fantasy that came after it.

Then I read Time After Time by Lisa Grunwald. Unfortunately, I didn’t love this one. I won’t say too much about it because I already did a full review, but it just wasn’t for me.

Ok, now onto the exciting part! I went to a book signing yesterday for Taylor Jenkins Reid and Casey McQuiston! And it was so much fun. I loved talking to both authors (TJR complemented my glasses, which just made my year). We got to hear all about Casey McQuiston’s second novel which sounds SO GOOD! I can’t say anything about it, but I am unbelievably excited to get my hands on it. It was just a great event all around. The discussion was fun, the fans were really nice, and the bookstore was awesome. I never thought I’d be shopping in a romance bookshop, but I ended up buying a signed copy of Rachel Hawkins’s Her Royal Highness (with Casey McQuiston recommended) and a few too many cool wooden bookmarks. If you’re in LA, I highly recommend The Ripped Bodice. Trust me, it’s just as worth it as The Last Bookstore.

That’s it for this week! What are you reading this weekend?

  1. Reading quite a few books for professional development (ah the 9 month lie that teachers only work 9 months out of a year) and I’m attempting again Game of Thrones just because and I am in a different place to enjoy it mentally. Romance books, really? Not sure how I feel about that, sounds a little girlie girl.
