Weekly Wrap Up – February 24

This was such a busy week! Work has been pretty stressful, and I actually spent all day Saturday in LA – I went to go see the Oscars costume exhibit at FIDM, which was really fun – and I am absolutely exhausted. And, with being so busy, I only managed to finish one book this week.

And, the one book I finished is: House on Fire by Bonnie Kestler. I’m tired and will be publishing a full review soon (most likely early next week), so I won’t discuss this one too much. It was just okay. It kind of reminded me of Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere, except it wasn’t quite as good.

As for current reads, I definitely have a few. I’m still working on the audiobook of Isaacson’s Einstein biography. I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s not quite as good as his biography of Leonardo da Vinci. It’s taking me a while to get through it, not because I’m not enjoying it, but because I haven’t been in the right head space to understand things like special relativity (I think I get it, but don’t ask me).

Also reading Between the World and Me by Ta’Nehisi Coates. I picked this up because it’s short and I’ve been meaning to read it for a while. I’m hoping to finish it this week. Also reading Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James, and, honestly, I’m not sure about this one. It’s dense. I’ve read a good 50+ pages so far, and I’m still not invested in the characters or the story. The writing is really interesting, but it’s difficult to get into. I might put this on hold for a bit until I can spend more time with it.

Finally, I started reading Becoming by Michelle Obama, and I’m loving it so far! I’m really looking forward to reading more, and will definitely be finishing it as soon as I can.

That’s it for this week! I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Don’t forget to vote for my next young adult read! I think In An Absent Dream is winning so far, but it’s definitely a close race. I’ll announce the winner in my TBR post on Friday!
