It’s time for my last book haul of 2018 (or first of 2019, depending on how you look at it). December was an extremely busy month, which means this is an extremely small book haul. I was just trying to catch up on everything going on, and just didn’t get around to buying books. This month’s haul contains my Book of the Month book, one book I purchased myself, and the rest were all Christmas presents:
One Day in December by Josie Silver. This was my Book of the Month pick for December, which clearly I had to pick up and read last month. Contrary to my initial impression, this isn’t a holiday book (it doesn’t even mostly take place in December), but it was really good. The romance was cute, but it was also deep. It didn’t quite make me cry, but I came close.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. I’ve heard great things about this book, and picked up a copy to add to my 2019 TBR. I think I’m going to shoot
The Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik. I’ve been kind of obsessed with Ruth Bader Ginsberg this year, and this has been on my wishlist for a while. I was really happy to receive this, and I’m excited to read it this year.
Anna Karenina and War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I’ve actually already read both of these, but I was excited to receive the Vintage Classic editions, because they are absolutely beautiful.
A Song of Ice and Fire (leather-bound box set) by George R. R. Martin. My sister gifted me the leather bound classics edition of this entire series, which I think means it’s time to finally read past the A Game of Thrones. Maybe. Someday.
That’s it for December’s haul! If you were expecting my usual crazy long book haul, I’m sorry to disappoint. But don’t worry, I can promise that January’s haul will be bigger than this one.
