This week was… not great. My reading definitely slowed down quite a bit, and it’s just been a very long, hard week. I did finish one book, and am working on a few others, so it wasn’t completely bad.
The book I finished this week is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I’d been putting this off for a while (I bought a copy of the book in January), because I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype. Fortunately, I was wrong. This was amazing! I do want to publish a review (I have one halfway written, just need to finish it), so look for that soon. In the meantime, go read this. Trust me.
As for the books I’m currently reading, this week I read a bit more of Pride & Prejudice on my work computer (thank you Project Gutenberg). I’m really enjoying this reread, and I’m flying through it. I’m also still listening to the audiobook of The Golem & the Jinni, though, to be honest, my pace has slowed down a bit since I realized the sequel is coming out next year, not next month (sad face).
I’m also reading My Plain Jane, which I’m enjoying quite a bit. Not surprising, since I love both Jane Eyre and My Lady Jane. This is such a fun read, which I definitely need right now. Finally, I started The Three Body Problem, which was recommended to me by someone at work. It took me a while to get into, but I think I’m going to like it.
That’s it for reading this week. But there is one more thing I want to mention. You may or may not have noticed that I did not post much this past week. And that’s because my migraines have gotten much, much worse for some reason. I’d gotten them down to about once a month (thanks to my meatless diet), but this past week, I’ve gotten one pretty much every day. And, for the first time ever, they are accompanied by some serious pain in my teeth (and eye) and a metallic taste in my mouth, which makes eating difficult (everything tastes bad while my migraines are happening). It’s been a long week. Hopefully I can get back into blogging and reading soon, but I’m going to take it easy for at least a few more days.
I hope you’re all having a good weekend! (Without crazy migraines.) As always, I’d love to hear what you’re reading!
