I’ll be honest, I’ve been struggling to come up with post ideas lately. I think it’s largely because I’m so busy my brain has stopped functioning correctly. But also, I’ve been blogging for over three and a half years, and I feel like I’m just doing the same things over and over, which isn’t fun. So, if you have any ideas for posts you’d like to see from me, leave them in the comments!
But today, I thought it would be fun to share some of the books I am most looking forward to in the remainder of 2018. There have been a lot of amazing releases so far this year (some of which I’ve actually read), and I think it’s been a great year for books so far. Here are the books I’m excited for that are coming out before 2019:
Vengeful by V. E. Schwab. I loved Vicious – it’s one of the reasons I first fell in love with Victoria Schwab – and cannot wait for the sequel! I already preordered a signed copy (and the matching edition of Vicious). When this arrives, I will be dropping absolutely everything to read it immediately.
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee. I really enjoyed The Gentleman’s Guide, so I’ve been eagerly anticipating this one. It’s one of the few YA series I’m still excited about.
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab. I’ll buy anything she writes at this point. I rarely preorder books very far in advance anymore, but I made an exception for this one. I’m looking forward to a new series from Schwab.
The Iron Season by Helene Wecker. There is a sequel to The Golem and the Jinni! I am SO EXCITED for this one. It’s been a while since I read the first book, but I absolutely loved it, and will be reading it again soon because The Iron Season is almost here! (EDIT: Either I read this wrong, or the pub date was delayed, but the release date on Goodreads says September 2019. Oops.)
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White. I’m a huge fan of the original Frankenstein, and this one looks really fun. I haven’t read anything by white yet (let’s just ignore the fact I have signed copies of the entire Conquerer’s Saga – I’m going to read them soon, I swear!), but she seems like an author whose work I’d really enjoy.
I think that’s it! Which is good, because I still have a lot of new releases from earlier this year that I still need to get to. Which books are you most looking forward to this year?
