It’s a new (hopefully better) month, which means it’s time to read some new books. Summer reading is my favorite. Provided it’s indoors, with air conditioning. It always reminds me of when summers meant getting a break, and being able to read whatever I wanted. And I definitely need some fun books this summer! Here is what I’m planning on reading in June:
Confessions of the Fox by Jordy Rosenberg. This is a queer love story involving thieves in eighteenth-century England, and that’s really all I need to know. I love the idea of LGBT historical fiction, and I’m excited to read this one. Will have a review up hopefully in the next couple of weeks. (Confessions of the Fox will be out on June 26.)
The Unbound by Victoria Schwab. I read The Archived last year and really enjoyed it. There are only two books in this series, so I have no excuse not to finish it.
Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart. Feminist fantasy? Right up my alley! I requested this on a whim, because it’s been a while since I’ve read any fantasy. I’m not sold, but I’m definitely curious and would love some good fantasy to read.
Henry VIII by William Shakespeare. Decided to choose this as my Shakespeare play of the month because I’ve been pretty into Tudor history lately, and am pretty curious to see how the Bard handles Henry VIII.
I also have some fun nonfiction planned for this month, but stay tuned for my Father’s Day Gift Guide to find out more!
What are you hoping to read this month?
Best of luck for the upcoming month and I hope you get to read (and enjoy) everything you want to! 🙂 I totally agree about Summer reading being the best… provided you’re indoors with air con and maybe a cool drink too, haha.

I’ve never read Henry VIII! I wonder, since Shakespeare was so enamored of Eliz I, how he handles her father… a father who didn’t want her. Here’s what I am reading in June: https://mwgerard.com/books-for-june-18/

I think it’s going to be really interesting. I’m curious to see how he handles it, too.

That seems to be a really interesting and full list of reads. Good luck, I hope they all bring you joy. I am very interested in your review for Confessions of the Fox.I’m pretty picky about historical fiction and this sounds really intriguing.
