Blog Awards Q&A Pt. 2

blog award q&a.jpg

There are a lot of blog awards out there, and I get nominated fairly often for various awards. And while I really appreciate the recognition from my fellow bloggers, I honestly just don’t have the time to dedicate a post to every single one. A while back, I did a post answering all the questions from the blog awards I’d been nominated for, and I thought it was time to do another. Here are all the questions I’ve gotten recently:

These are from Nicole at Sorry I’m Booked, who nominated me for The Awesome Blogger Award:

  1. Favorite cookie? Snickerdoodles
  2. Favorite drink to order at a coffee shop? I usually just get a soy latte
  3. Are you more of a sweater weather or short sleeves/shorts weather type of person? Definitely sweater weather! Give me sweater weather all year and I’d be so happy
  4. What’s your dream job? I’d love to be an editor – it’s something I’m good at and I love the idea of finding new books and helping make them the best they can be
  5. What’s your favorite mythical creature? This is a hard one! Probably a phoenix (wait, no, porgs!)
  6. What was the genre of the book you most recently finished? The book I most recently finished was a thriller (The French Girl by Lexie Elliott)
  7. What are you currently reading? Currently reading Crazy Rich Asians and The Final Empire

These are from Kayla at Kayla’s Book Nook, who nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award:

  1. Under what circumstances would you DNF a book? I’m actually trying to do better about DNFing books, but I DNF if I’m not enjoying something (might put it down to come back to later) or if I can’t get past how bad the writing is
  2. Share your favourite meme or GIF! I just spent like five minutes looking for one and can’t seem to find a favorite. Basically, just anything from The Good Place“.
  3. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading! I am only like ten pages in, so there aren’t any good ones…
  4. Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know. I failed freshman English in high school and had to retake it
  5. (Sort of) weird: What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any) “Everything is Awful” by The Decemberists (which is how I feel at the moment)

These are from Heather, who nominated me for a Liebster Award:

  1. What’s your favorite scary movie? Probably A Quiet Place. I’m not a huge scary movie person, but that one was really good
  2. Paper, e-reader, or audio book? Do you use different formats for different times? Definitely different formats at different times. I usually have one of each going
  3. What are some unusual places you’ve been? Outside of the US, I’ve been to Denmark, Palestine, Egypt, England, and Scotland
  4. What do you do to wind down after a long day/week? I usually watch dumb/funny TV shows and knit, it’s really relaxing
  5. Describe your best friend in 8-10 words Honestly, I don’t really have a best friend
  6. What is your most popular blog post? Probably one of my Book Blogging for Beginners posts – I get tons of comments on those
  7. Do you have a phobia (or a few)? Please tell! Definitely spiders. Also, I hate small spaces or not having an escape route
  8. If you could visit any fictional setting, where would it be? Where would you NOT want to go? I’d want to go to Hogwarts, and I would definitely NOT want to go to White London (from the Shades of Magic series)
  9. What is your favorite food? I love potato chips (or crisps if you’re not in the US)
  10. What is something unusual about you? I’m 28 and still have two of my baby teeth because I was born without the adult ones (and refuse to get implants because the process is long and kinda gross)
  11. Aside from the Santa and Tooth Fairy lies stories we were told as children, what was something you believed that absolutely wasn’t true? I thought ‘concentrate’ was a company, and thought it was really mean that the orange juice manufacturers advertised that they didn’t get their product ‘from concentrate’. I felt bad for concentrate because they were probably going to go out of business.

Finally, these are from Bethany, who also nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award:

  1. Which book has had the biggest emotional impact on your life? Probably Harry Potter – I read it A LOT growing up
  2. Who are your top three favourite authors and a short summary of why? Neil Gaiman, Victoria Schwab, and Pierce Brown, all for the same reason: they all inspire me every single time I read one of their books.
  3. Is there any genre of book that would refuse to read? I generally don’t read traditional romance novels, but I wouldn’t say I refuse to read them. I do enjoy the occasional romance, it’s just not something I’m drawn to on a regular basis.
  4. Are there any characters within a novel that have greatly inspired you? Hermione helped me a lot growing up because I identified with her
  5. My spirit animal would have to be a giraffe. Which animal would yours be? Probably a cat because I am lazy and hate pretty much everything

  1. I’m a sleeveless kinda person, and having 9 months of sweater weather a year is getting old really quickly. 😦 I do love a good cardigan tho 😀

I need to watch the Quiet Place. Keep hearing about it and it seems good!
