Weekly Wrap Up – February 18

weekly wrap up

This is going to be a quick wrap up because I just came back from dinner and I’m really tired. But it was a pretty good week for reading, I finished three books, two of which I really liked.

The first book I read this week is Educated by Tara Westover. I’m not going to talk a lot about it, because I did a review, but I loved it! It’s probably one of the best memoirs I’ve read, and it’ll be out this week, so go get it!

Then I read The Little Book of Feminist Saints by Julia Pierpont, which was really great. I always used to read those little books of saints when I was a kid, and this was such a good take on that. I’ll be doing a full review later in the week, so keep an eye out for that.

Finally, I read Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer. I was motivated to pick this up because the movie trailer looks amazing, but, unfortunately, the book fell flat for me. I appreciated the originality, but didn’t enjoy the reading experience. I’ll have a full review up tomorrow, so you can read more of my thoughts then.

As for current reads, I am currently enamored with Walter Isaacson’s biography of Leonardo da Vinci, which I am listening to on audiobook. It is so good! I can’t believe it took me this long to read an Isaacson bio, but I will definitely be reading more of them. I also just started The Red Word by Sarah Henstra. I’m not far enough in to decide how I feel about it, but I’ll definitely be doing a review later.

That’s it for this week! I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend.

What are you currently reading?

    1. I am loving it so far! It’s really well written and the narrator is great. (Fair warning, the audio sample is only the narrator for the prologue, the actual narrator is much better.) Even though it’s a lot of history, I’m not finding it boring at all.
