2017 was a great year for books. And 2018 looks just as good. Here are some of the books I’m looking forward to reading next year:
Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire (January 9). This year, I read and loved the first two books in the Wayward Children series and I am really looking forward to this one. I like that each book is a different story – kind of like episodes – and this one sounds really intriguing. I hope they never end.
Iron Gold by Pierce Brown (January 16). I am a MASSIVE fan of the Red Rising series, and I am so excited that we’re getting three more books. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I also need to binge-read the first three books before this one comes out, so…
The Comfort Zone by Sally Thorne (February 20). Sally Thorne’s debut, The Hating Game, is easily one of my favorite romance novels (and I don’t really read romance novels). It’s so fun, and I can’t wait to see what her next book is all about.
Obsidio by Amie Kaufmann and Jay Kristoff (March 13). This one shouldn’t need to much explanation. I’m really enjoying the Illuminae series thus far, and I’m curious to see what this one is about.
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland (April 3). Honestly, all it took for this to land on my TBR was the cover. It’s fantastic. But the fact that it’s an alternate history about Zombies and the Civil War and deals with race relations made me want to read this any more.
Circe by Madeline Miller (April 10). I adore The Song of Achilles and I can’t wait to read this one, especially since it focuses on the females of Greek mythology.
Only Human by Sylvain Neuvel (May 1). This is the third book in the Themis Files series, and I am so curious about what is going to happen next.
My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton (June 26). I absolutely loved My Lady Jane, and I am so happy that they decided to write about Jane Eyre next.
Vengeful by V. E. Schwab (September). Vicious is one of my favorite novels, so, naturally, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel. I’m already preparing myself for how brutal it’s going to be.
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (October 2). I loved The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue so much and I can’t wait for a book all about Felicity.
The Iron Season by Helene Wecker (October 15). It’s been so long since I read The Golem and the Jinni, which is an incredible novel – still one of my favorites – and I am ridiculously excited that it’s getting a sequel.
What is your most anticipated book of 2018?
