It’s almost Christmas, which means it’s time for another Christmas book tag! I haven’t done as many holiday book tags this year as I did last, and it wasn’t feeling quite like Christmas. So I’m glad Michelle at Book Adventures tagged me for this one, because I needed to get at least one more in before Christmas.
Anticipation – The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating.
For 2017, I am highly anticipating Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology, V. E. Schwab’s A Conjuring of Light, and Pierce Brown’s Iron Gold. Oh, and the next book in the Diviners series by Libba Bray (if it actually makes it out next year).
Christmas Songs & Carols – What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises.
Definitely Neil Gaiman – everything he writes, I love. I’m also a bit obsessed with V. E. Schwab. One of my goals for 2017 is to read all of the books she’s written that I haven’t read yet (specifically, The Archived).
Gingerbread Houses – What book or series has wonderful world building.
For this one, I’m going with The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (the Kingkiller Chronicles). I haven’t yet read the second book, but I will be very soon. I’m saving it as a reward for finishing my thesis.
A Christmas Carol – Favorite classic or one that you want to read.
Actually, I do want to read A Christmas Carol. But I think the classic I want to read most at the moment is Les Miserables.
Christmas Sweets – What book would you love to receive for Christmas.
This year, I really want The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. Specifically, the British editions because the are so pretty. The US covers don’t even come close.
Candles in the Window – What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling.
My answer for this will always be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It’s one of the books I read over and over and never get tired of.
Christmas Trees & Decorations – What are some of your favorite book covers.
Any of the Vintage Classics editions – I have the Austen and Brontë ones, and really want to get the Virginia Woolf collection soon!
Christmas Joy – What are some of your favorite things about Christmas.
I just really love the whole cozy feeling of the season and spending time with family. I also love giving gifts, so that’s fun.
In the comments, share your favorite thing about Christmas and one book you’re hoping to see under your tree this year!
Love this post and Christmas, especially the anticipation leading up to it 🙂
