Weekly Wrap Up – December 17

weekly-wrap-up

Forgive me if this is a short wrap up. I’m writing it at 11:30 Friday night (30 minutes before this post is scheduled to go live), and just finished a nine-hour Christmas cookie baking session (after waking up at 5 am to drive to work in the rain).

This week, I read two books. Both of which were – surprisingly – romance! They were actually completely different, but they both got three stars from me.

The first book I read was Neurotica by Eliza Gordon. I enjoyed this book because I identified a lot with the main character. I thought it approached the romance in a fun way, and all the Star Wars references were a huge bonus!

I also read The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. This one’s been on my TBR for a while, and even though I already had a copy, I wasn’t sure I actually wanted to read it. But in Lauren Graham’s memoir (which I finished last week), she divulges that she and Mae Whitman are adapting it into a film. Obviously, I had to read it. I didn’t love it (it’s basically Kate Middleton fan fiction), but I can totally see how it would make a great film.

That’s pretty much it for this week. I’m exhausted, so I’m going to go to bed so I can wake up before noon tomorrow and get some homework done.

Hope you’re all having a great weekend! Let me know if you’re reading anything good at the moment.

  1. My brain is like comment on the books, comment on the books but I can’t fight the real me down. 9 HOUR COOKIE BAKING SESSION?!
That’s a lot of cookies, can I have some?
I actually haven’t read or heard of the books you have read this week, but definitely want to check out The Royal especially if Lauren Graham mentioned it. (still need to buy her book) Love her so much!

    1. Hahaha yes! Seriously, though, it took us WAY TOO LONG to decorate them. There are not nearly as many as you’d think lol.

I love Lauren Graham, too! Even though The Royal We wasn’t a favorite, I’m still really curious to see what she does with the adaptation (I’m pretty sure she’s actually writing the script!)
