The Jingle Bell Book Tag

jingle bells.jpg

It’s time for the first holiday tag of the year! I was tagged by the lovely Michelle @ Book Adventures to do the Jingle Bell Book Tag (created by Richard @ The Humpo Show). This tag was so much fun to do, so I hope you enjoy it!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You…” – What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?

This year, I actually only asked my family for three books, because the likelihood is better that I’ll actually get them, and I’ll just lump them together because it’s a box set. I really want the British editions of the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson, because I am going to try to read them next year. If I don’t get them for Christmas, I will probably end up buying them for myself.

“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…” –  What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?

Do I have to pick just one? There are so many! If I really have to choose, I guess I’d say the book I enjoyed the most this year, overall, is The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Both the story and the writing are incredible.

Elf – What book unleashes your inner child?

The answer to this question is definitely Where the Wild Things Are. I’ve loved this book since I was a child, and I don’t think that will ever change.

“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” – Which book has most festive look to it?

I mean, probably my copy of A Christmas Carol. It’s pretty Christmas-y.

The Grinch – Your favourite villain…

Why are all these questions so difficult? Again, if I had to pick one, I’d have to go with Voldemort. I really love how much of his background we get, and that he’s still totally evil, but you can kind of understand where he comes from.

The Holiday – Name your favourite TWO couples…

When I think romance, I think classics, so I think my answer(s) would have to be: Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice (because that’s my answer for everything), and Jane and Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre.

What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?

If I could, I’d give you all a copy of Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman because it’s one of my favorite books, and I think everyone should read Gaiman at least once.

I’m tagging:

  1. How fun! I’m in a totally festive mood at the moment so I may have to steal this. I just posted a Christmas survey on my blog and I might as well put on some Christmas music and continue the trend! 😉

I’m definitely planning to try another Neil Gaiman this year (I think I mentioned before that “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” is the only one I’ve read and I thought it was just ok) and I will keep “Neverwhere” in mind for attempt #2!

    1. Do it! And let me know which Gaiman you decide to read. I’d also recommend Stardust and The Graveyard Book. I really like American Gods, too, but I think the first two and Neverwhere are the best examples of his style.
