Weekly Wrap Up – October 15

weekly-wrap-up

It’s halfway through the month, and I think I’m calling it: my October TBR is not going to happen. I’ve just been in a bit of a reading slump (which usually happens at the end of one of my school terms). I’m also, sadly, not that interested in the books on my TBR at the moment. I might get to one or two of them closer to the end of the month, but I’m not going to be that disappointed if I don’t. I didn’t finish any books this week, but I’ve been slowly reading a few, so I’ll give you an update on those.

A month or so ago, I received an ARC of a new biography of Queen Victoria by Julia Baird. Since it is a digital ARC (and the page numbers in my Kindle app are SUPER messed up), I didn’t realize it was a 704-page biography. So, since I know it will take me a while to read, I decided to start it early. It is definitely not a quick read, but it’s not as slow as I was expecting, and I’m making good progress. I don’t remember the last time I was this intrigued by a biography, so I’m sticking with it, rather than forcing myself to read too many other things. I will definitely have a review up for you closer to its release date, which is November 15. (Also, I can’t not picture Victoria as Emily Blunt. Clearly, I have watched The Young Victoria one too many times.)

I’m also listening to the audiobook of Misery by Stephen King. I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, but, unfortunately, I’m just not in the mood for it at the moment. I still want to finish it this month, but I might put it down for a bit and get to it closer to Halloween. I am enjoying it, but, right now, I’d just rather listen to Hamilton.

That’s kind of the extent of my reading this week. But, as of tomorrow, I will be completely done with my first thesis writing course, so that’s exciting! I have most of next week off, so I’m hoping to get quite a bit of reading and writing done then.

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! Let me know what your currently reading in the comments!
