This week’s wrap up is going to be really short. Mostly because it’s 11pm Friday night, but also because I only ended up finishing one book this week. Not my best reading week, but i was having trouble getting into anything. Which happens, and it’s totally fine. Possibly because I was ridiculously tired all week. Also, if you’re wondering, there won’t be a short story mini review post tomorrow, because (yet again) I didn’t do my homework. I think I’ve hit the point in the term where I start to do the bare minimum. Don’t judge, it works for me – I have a 3.85 GPA. Anyway, onto the reading!
The first and only book i finished this week is This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I LOVED it! It completely blew my mind, and I am so looking forward to the second book in the duology. Schwab can do no wrong in my eyes. If you haven’t looked into this book yet, I highly recommend it. I’m planning on having a full review up sometime in the next week (probably Wednesday), so keep an eye out for that.
After finishing This Savage Song and spending a few days not reading, I was in the mood for a light, fun, summer read. Naturally, I picked the exact opposite out of my TBR pile, and ended up starting The Circle by Dave Eggers. Basically, I bought it the second I found it it was going to be a movie starring Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. Basically my two favorite actors. (Also, John Boyega is in it, which is really cool.) I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m currently two-thirds of the way through it, and I am really enjoying it so far. It’s super creepy (at least for me, because technology freaks me out [I say as I write this on a Macbook that is probably watching me type in my PJs] – seriously, I’m not cool with everything I do being tracked/made public, it’s weird), but really interesting. Can’t wait to see the film! I will likely also publish a review for this one in the next week or two.
Which brings me to the last thing I want to mention: for two weeks, starting Tuesday, I will have family visiting from Jerusalem! My dad is from there, and most of his family still lives there, so I rarely – if ever – get to see most of my relatives. My aunt and cousin will be staying with us, which is super exciting. I always love seeing my aunt, and my cousin is eighteen, and we have literally never met, so that’ll be fun. It also means I might not be posting/replying as much in the next few weeks. I have some posts scheduled, but I’m definitely prioritizing family time over blogging. Especially since I will also be working, and my fiction writing final is due at the end of the month. So if you don’t hear from me for a while, just know I’m fine, I’m probably über-stressed, hopefully having fun, and will be back soon.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Let me know what you’re reading this week!
