Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon Reading List

I’ve wanted to participate in a readathon for a while, but with school and work and everything, the timing just didn’t work out. But, it turns out that I accidentally got a week ahead on my homework, and I have no plans this weekend, so I can dedicate a full day to just reading. After seeing Whitney’s post yesterday, I knew I had to do it.

Here are the books I am planning on reading:

  1. Saga Vol. 5 by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples. I’ve wanted to read this for a while, and I think it’s perfect for a readathon because I can read it in an hour or two.
  2. The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion. I loved The Rosie Project, and I’ve had the sequel laying around for a while. The first book only took me about four or five hours to read, and I’ve been itching to pick this one up lately, so I’m excited to finally read it.
  3. The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. I was going to go with Peter Pan – it’s on my TBR for this month – but I can’t find my copy anywhere, so Oz it is! I actually really want to read this, so I’m pretty excited about it.
  4. Egghead by Bo Burhnam. This book is probably going to take me less than an hour to read, because it’s mostly pictures. So I decided to throw it in there, just because.

There’s my list! A grand total of 922 pages. I have no idea if that’s going to be way too much or too little, but I think I can do it. Two of those books have quite a few pictures, and one is a graphic novel, so I’m hoping they go by quickly. If I manage to finish all of them, I plan on moving straight on into another book (I haven’t decided which yet, but I have plenty to chose from). All of these books also count towards at least one of the challenges I’m doing this year, so that’s awesome.

I don’t think I’m going to plan on waking up at 5 am tomorrow (which is when the readthon starts in my time zone), but I have no qualms about reading until 5 am the next morning. So I might be able to get close to the full 24 hours worth of reading done.

I will be posting updates on Twitter and Instagram, so follow me there if you want to see how my reading day is going. Let me know if you’re participating, and what you’re planning on reading!
