Weekly Wrap Up – December 26

Stack Of Books

For me, Boxing Day is bittersweet – Christmas is over, but I get to spend the entire day relaxing, reading, and watching movies (my family is currently marathoning Star Wars, because my sister hasn’t seen any of them but The Force Awakens). I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and are enjoying some time off (from school or work or real life or whatever) in the last week of the year. I just realized this is the last weekly wrap up I’ll be posting in 2015 – I can’t believe this year is almost over, which means this blog is almost a year old!

This week, I finally came out of my reading slump and read a couple of books. First was the Illustrated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling and Jim Kay. Overall, it was fantastic, but I did have a few issues with the editing (you can read my full review here).

Then I read My True Love Gave to Me, which is a short story collection edited by Stephanie Perkins. While I didn’t love it, it definitely put me in the Christmas mood. It also introduced me to some authors I haven’t read, but am definitely interested in now, which is always great!

This week was also Christmas, which means I do have a book haul to share with you! For Christmas, I got a copy of I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, which I’d listened to the audiobook of, and loved. I also got a copy of Ray Bradbury’s short stories, which I am really excited to read. I also got preorders of signed copies of Morning Star by Pierce Brown, Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard, and A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab. And finally, I got a signed, leather-bound deluxe edition of Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, which is my favorite Gaiman novel. So definitely a great Christmas!

I hope you all had a great week and a great holiday!
