‘Tis The Season Book Tag

Open book.

I was tagged by Michelle at Book Adventures to do the ‘Tis The Season Book Tag and Heather at The Sassy Book Geek. I really wanted to do this tag, so thanks Michelle and Heather! This tag was originally created by BookTuber Richard Denney, and it combines two of my favorite things: books and Christmastime.

Do you have a favourite winter read?

I’m going to say Harry Potter. The holidays are the perfect time to return to this series. It just makes me feel warm and cosy.

o-GOLEM-AND-THE-JINNI-facebookFind a book with blue on the cover.

I’m going to pick The Golem and The Jinni by Helene Wecker, because the cover is blue, and gorgeous, and perfectly wintery.

Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas Tree!

If I went with a book that looks most like a star, I’d have to say The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe, because the copy I have is super gold and metallic. But, personally, I think I’d rather go with a book I love, so maybe a beautiful edition of Pride and Prejudice or something by Neil Gaiman.

Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation.

I think Hogsmeade would be amazing! P.S. in case you missed it, Universal announced the opening date for the new Wizarding World theme park in Los Angeles (4/7/16), and I CAN’T WAIT!

Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation.

Can I pick Neville Longbottom again? Is it clear I’m obsessed with Harry Potter yet?

Name one book on your wishlist this year.

One book I’d love to get this year is The Silmarilion by J. R. R. Tolkien.

Favourite holiday drink, treat & movie?

I’m a holiday drink junkie – I love tea and coffee and hot chocolate. Around this time of year, I love spicy teas like chai or Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset. And gingerbread lattes. My favorite holiday treat is probably hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream – I’m not that into sweets, so having whipped cream on my hot chocolate is the perfect treat for me. And my favorite holiday movie is Elf.

Who do you tag?

I feel like a lot of people have already done this tag, or one very similar, so I’m not going to tag anyone in particular. But if you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!
