I’m usually so good about scheduling posts in advance, but the past few weeks have been pretty crazy, and I’m running out of ideas! So I decided to give the Fall Time Cozy Book Tag a go. I’ve been seeing this tag everywhere over the past couple of months, and since fall is really – FINALLY – in full swing, this is the perfect time for me to do it. I got this tag from Aimal at Bookshelves & Paperbacks, though I’ve probably seen it about a million other places.
The cover of Stephen King’s Full Dark, No Stars will always scream fall to me. Yes, it’s a little creepy – it’s Stephen King – but just look at it. Take away the dead branches and the bird, and you have a fallen leaf.
Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to don warm cosy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?
I think this will always be Pride and Prejudice. Though Northanger Abbey, also by Jane Austen, comes in at a close second. There’s just something about curling up with Jane Austen that’s just magical. It’s the perfect amount of romance. And Lizzy and Darcy will always give me the warm fuzzies.
Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favourite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.
I love the rain! Though I can’t remember the last time we got real, heavy rain. I think it kind of depends what mood I’m in, but I either go for something classic, like Wuthering Heights, or something dark, like Gone Girl.
Cool Crisp Air: Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
I think my answer for this will always be Hermione. Yes, she may have had to do a lot of difficult things, but she’s definitely the most badass female character I know. And if I’m going to be a fictional character, it definitely has to be one who can use magic.
Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
I know a lot of people have been talking about it lately, but I feel like it’s gotten no where near the hype it deserves: Vicious by V. E. Schwab. I think it’s so much better than a lot of stories that are getting major hype, so I’d love to see it be made into a movie or something.
Coat, Scarves and Mittens: The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
Hmm… probably something like Libba Bray’s Beauty Queens, which has a picture of a girl in a bikini and bandoliers. It totally fits the books, but if you don’t know the plot, it might seem pretty bizarre. When I read in public, I tend to bring more serious novels, like classics (I know I shouldn’t really care, but I do).
Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favourite fall time comfort food/foods?
Pretty much pumpkin anything. I also just really love soup – any kind of soup. When I lived in Boston, there was a restaurant near my apartment called Zoup that basically just served fifteen different kinds of soup every day. I ate there at least twice a week. Even in the summer.
I’m going to copy Aimal and tag anyone who hasn’t done this tag and/or wants to do it!
(To be honest, I really like doing book tags, but I really hate tagging people. Feel free to tag me, just don’t feel bad if I don’t pass it on.)
