Would You Rather?

I found randomly found this tag on WordPress the other day a few weeks ago (I kept rescheduling this post) – original post here – and it looked really fun. I’ve kind of been into these things lately, so I hope you don’t hate them. Because I’m going to keep doing the ones I like. Here is the “Would You Rather?” book tag:

Would you rather read trilogies or stand-alones?

If I have to choose, right now I’d say stand-alone novels. Honestly, I think my answer would have been different a few months ago. But lately, between grad school, blogging, and finding new books I want to read, I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with the amount of reading I have to do, and I kind of like just being done after one book.

Would you rather read only male or female authors?

Both? This is such a hard question. To be completely honest, I tend to gravitate towards male authors, but I also have been making an effort to read more women and minority writers lately. Nope. It’s been ten minutes and I still can’t choose – I’m moving on.

Would you rather shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?

I’m an Amazon addict. Books at a discount in two days without having to leave my house? Done.

Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?

It depends on the book. TV shows can include more parts of the book, obviously because they’re longer, but, unless it’s Game of Thrones, movies are almost always done on a grander scale, which I’m partial to. I’m going with movies.

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

By far the easiest question! 5 books a week, hands-down. I’ve done it before (I once read all seven Harry Potter novels in three days), and I’m really trying to get into that pace again. Last month, I read twenty-seven books, which is at least five books a week. And it was amazing.

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?

Author. I love reading, and I do enjoy reviewing books, but I can read a lot without having to write reviews. And I’ve always wanted to be an author.

Would you rather be a librarian or a book seller?

I have a dream of owning a bookshop with a cat that sells tea and pastries in the back. One day. So, book seller.

Would you rather read only your favourite genre or every genre but your favourite?

I’m not sure I could name a favorite genre. I like a lot of different things. So I guess I’d pick every genre but my favorite, because at least then I’d be able to read a variety of things. I think sticking to one genre could get very boring, even if it is your favorite.

Would you rather read only e-books or physical books?

Nothing will ever beat physical books in my mind. I’ve been reading a lot of ebooks lately because either I got them for really cheap on iBooks, for free on Kindle Unlimited, or they were sent as ARCs or review copies. And, while they’ve almost all been amazing books, it has been killing my eyes. This is why I had to get glasses.

That was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Feel free to answer any of the questions down in the comments or post this tag on your own blog!

      1. Oh, yeah I can imagine the glare from the iPad would hurt your eyes so bad! But if you ever consider buying a Kindle, get the Paperwhite!
Oh, great idea about the bookshop and cats, two of my favourite things in one place!
