Book Blogger TMI Tag

Another random tag because I feel like it. Fine, it’s because I drank way too much coffee today and can’t sleep. Enjoy my incoherent midnight ramblings.

How old are you?

What book are you reading?
John Dies at the End by David Wong. Is it weird that the only reason I’m reading this is because I’m interested in the sequel, This Book is Full of Spiders?

What are you wearing?
PJ pants and a t-shirt from Mental Floss that says “my patronus is a bookworm.” It’s one of my favorites.

Can I just go with Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy?

Blogger or WordPress?
WordPress. I’ve never used Blogger.

Going outside being active or staying in and reading a book?
Definitely staying in and reading a book! I kind of hate outside. I get sunburnt and I don’t like bugs or dirt or sand.

What is the last book you read?
Just finished Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. And a bunch of poetry by William Blake for my Romantic Lit class.

What is the book you’re going to read next?
Whatever I feel like? Well, I have to read Until We Meet Again by Renee Collins soon because I have an ARC and it comes out November 3. And I might pick up Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham. Or Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Or This is How by Augusten Burroughs. And I really want to read Through the Narrows by Nathanael Green and Evan Ronan soon. I’m really bad at choosing.

Ebooks – yes or no?
Yes. I always prefer physical books, but sometimes ebooks are convenient. And it’s how I get a lot of ARCs, so I kind of have to do the ebook thing. I try and alternate between ebooks and non-ebooks. For the sake of my eyes.

Where do you prefer to read?
Either in bed or in a very comfy chair at home. I get too distracted in libraries or coffee shops.

Who is the last person you tweeted?
WordPress haha. I was having issues and was getting frustrated. Before that, it was V.E Schwab, because I just read A Darker Shade of Magic and loved it!

Whose blog did you look at last?
I don’t remember.

Who is your favorite blogger?
I don’t really have one. I kind of just read whatever. But I’m trying to find some more book blogs to follow – if you have one, leave it in the comments!

Who is your favorite book-tuber?
I’m a teensy bit obsessed with Regan from Peruse Project. She’s so fun to watch and has great taste in books!

What do you do when someone tells you reading is boring?
I think I’ve become somewhat immune to this, because I live with three other people who don’t read, and one who reads a little bit, but thinks most of what I read is boring. I’ve literally read more books in the last month, than my mother has in the past ten years. I get told reading is boring all the time.

Who is the last author you spoke to?
Online? I exchanged some tweets with V.E. Schwab and had a nice twitter conversation with Christina Henry a few months ago. Email? Probably either Nathanael Green or Evan Ronan. And in person? I’m pretty sure it was Pierce Brown.

Who is the last person you texted?
My dad.

Who is your all-time favorite book character?
I am terrible at choosing favorite anything. Maybe Hermione Granger or Elizabeth Bennet or Mark Watney. I could name about fifty favorite characters, so I’ll stop there.

Both. As long as it’s in English (so I can read it – though I do want to try reading a book in Latin soon).

What is your preferred drink whilst reading?
Usually coffee. Sometimes water. Occasionally a gin and ginger or hard cider if it’s been a long day.

If you hated reading, what would you be doing instead?
Probably wasting time doing unproductive things online. Or maybe I’d pick up knitting again.

How many bookshelves / bookcases do you have?
One, but it’s ginormous.

If you had the choice to meet all of your favorite book bloggers or all of your favorite authors, which would you pick? You can only pick one.
Authors. I’ve actually been going to quite a few author events in the past year or so. I’ve met David Mitchell and Pierce Brown, and I have tickets to meet Neil Gaiman next month!

Insta-love: yes or no?
Nope. Nope. Nope.

Favorite author?
All of them? I can’t choose!

What is the number-one book on your wishlist?
Vicious by V.E. Schwab. Which I will probably buy soon because I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to books.

Do you prefer books with female or male protagonists?
Doesn’t really matter, as long as they’re well written.

Which is your favourite book-to-film adaption?
The Hunger Games is really great. And I thought they did a great job with The Martian, which is one of my favorite books.

What is the last song you listened to?
Ship to Wreck by Florence and the Machine. Or Summer in Ohio from The Last Five Years soundtrack. I wasn’t really paying much attention.

Which do you enjoy reading more – negative reviews or positive reviews?
It kind of depends on the book and who’s writing the review. As long as the author is sincere (and has good grammar), I’m fine with either.

  1. I thought The Hunger Games did a pretty good job of Collins’ novel too, same goes for Catching Fire. 🙂 Would completely recommend Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, it’s a grower for sure, and an interesting world.

What a lovely tag, I borrowed it to do on my own blog haha.
