Honestly, right now, I am kicking some ass in grad school. I currently have a 3.8 cumulative GPA, and am getting a 96% in my Shakespeare class (and I only have two weeks left). But I feel really great about how I’ve been doing! And, since I quit my job, I feel like I’m actually learning things and retaining information. Which is kind of the point of grad school, right?
I also feel really good about it because I’ve been choosing classes I really want to take, as opposed to classes I think might be easy. I picked Shakespeare, Medieval Literature, and 19th Century Romantic Literature when I could have taken Popular and Contemporary Literature or Major Authors (i.e. Stephen King). I challenged myself and went outside my comfort zone, and that makes the fact that I’m doing well feel so much more gratifying.
